MASTERSTOP becomes a high-performance swelling tape

Testing process
Up to now, our swelling tapes have been tested on relatively smooth concrete surfaces. However, at building sites the scenario is different as the concrete is often very rough. Therefore, the functional capability of our MASTERSTOP swelling tape was tested on a very rough concrete substrate.
Fastening the swelling tape
In order to level out the roughness of the concrete substrate, the swelling tape must be glued on using our POWER swelling tape adhesive or our MasterMastic PU swelling paste.
Result and evaluation
The swelling tape is permanently water pressure-tight up to 8 bar. It has also passed a three-cycle test with alternating water load. MASTERSTOP bentonite swelling tape is suitable for sealing smooth and rough joints up to a water pressure of 8 bar.
We are not aware of any other European swelling tape that has been subjected to this type of test.
